在合同文件中经常出现“自行”这个词，其实这个词出现在不同的情境当中时应当有不同的译法。总结如下：
1、最常见是译为itself或by itself。
Itself
The Distributor is entitled to promote and market itself as Distributor of XXX company.

Without consent of the other party
2、强调权利时可译为“without consent of the other Party”。
3、强调义务时可译为“without disturbing the other party”。
4、强调决定权或“自行决定”的情况下可译为“in/at one’s own discretion”，“using one’s discretion”等。
5、在某些情况下，还可以翻译成“Independently”。
